Installation Instructions for a Hook/Knob Using an Allen Key Mount – Scandinavian Handles

What You Need

A hook or furniture knob with a concealed mounting and a locking screw tightened with an Allen key.
A base/mounting element designed for the specific model and the appropriate mounting screw or screws.
Wall plugs suitable for the type of wall.
An Allen key appropriate for the locking screw.
A drill, suitable drill bit for the surface, hammer, spirit level, pencil, and tape measure.

Installation Instructions

1. Mark the Installation Spot

Mark the spot where the hook is to be installed. The typical installation height is about 160–175 cm from the floor, but this should be adjusted according to the intended use of the hook and the users' needs.
If installing multiple hooks, use a spirit level and tape measure to maintain even spacing and consistent height.
Hold the base/mounting element against the wall and mark the location of the mounting hole or holes with a pencil.

2. Drill One or Two Holes

The number of holes depends on the base design of the model:

single-point base – drill 1 hole,
two-point base – drill 2 holes.

Choose the drill bit diameter according to the wall plug used. For a 6 mm plug, use a Ø 6 mm drill bit.
Adjust the hole depth to match the length of the wall plug.
After drilling, remove dust from the hole or holes using a vacuum cleaner or blowing air.

3. Insert the Wall Plug and Attach the Base

Insert the wall plug or plugs into the prepared holes. They should be flush with the wall surface.
If necessary, gently tap them in with a hammer.
Hold the base/mounting element against the wall.
Screw the base in place with the appropriate screw or screws. It should be stable and fit snugly against the wall.

4. Attach the Hook to the Base

The method of attaching the hook depends on the design of the model.

Option A – Hook Placed Against the Base

Place the hook body directly onto the mounted base and position it correctly.

Option B – Hook Slid Onto the Base

Slide the hook body onto the mounted base in the direction intended for the model until it is in the correct position.

5. Tighten the Allen Screw

Once the hook is properly attached, locate the locking screw inside its body.
Insert the appropriate Allen key and tighten the screw carefully.
The screw locks the hook onto the mounted base and prevents it from sliding off or rotating.
Do not overtighten the screw.

6. Check Stability

Check that the hook fits firmly against the wall and there is no noticeable play.
Gently move the hook to ensure the base and body are properly secured.
If the hook is loose, check the base mounting and retighten the Allen screw.

Choosing the Wall Plug for the Surface

Concrete / Solid Brick: use an appropriate nylon plug designed for solid surfaces.

Aerated Concrete / Hollow Brick: use a plug designed for light, porous, or hollow surfaces.

Plasterboard: use suitable fixings for plasterboard, e.g. butterfly or Molly plugs.

Caution Choose the mounting method according to the type of wall and the load the hook will bear. The plug supplied with the product may not be suitable for every type of surface.
