The switches and sockets currently available in our range are manufactured to British standards:
Switches - Functionality:
-
2-Way Switch:
-
Every switch (not labeled "Intermediate") is a 2-way switch, allowing you to control a light from two locations.
-
3-Way Switch - Intermediate:
-
Any switch described as "Intermediate" is a 3-way switch, allowing you to control a light from three locations.
Boxes for Switches and Sockets:
In the UK, metal or plastic mounting boxes are used for switches and sockets.
- Metal Boxes: These should be used for masonry walls.
- Plastic Boxes: These are used for drywall.
Small Boxes: Used for all square switches and sockets.
Dimensions: 70x70x47 mm. Hole spacing: 115 mm.
Large Boxes: Used for all rectangular switches and sockets.
Dimensions: 130x70x47 mm. Hole spacing: 60 mm.
Switches and sockets are mounted to the boxes with screws manufactured to the CALI standard, not the MM (metric) standard. The holes in the boxes are also in the CALI standard.
Therefore, we recommend using British boxes, which are always available in our warehouse in Poland. While we have seen switches installed in local orange boxes, we have never done this ourselves and cannot guarantee that it can be done without issues.
Additionally, switches from our range are always installed separately, and there are no frames that combine switches into a single panel.
The lead time for orders of sockets and switches is approximately 28 working days for products available in stock in England. While stock levels are generally well managed, please be aware that occasionally a product may sell out completely.
